Hi There i just whanted some help because i have downloaded some Hacked games for Nes And when i got them down i saw it was a Ips file How do i play the game what do i need ??? HELP! <img src=smilies/cry.gif>

The IPS file is merely the changes to be made to the hack, you'll need to get the rom itself. Don't ask for them though, you'll get a nice shiny flame and boot.

But to do anything with the IPS files, you need a patcher (http://fusoya.cg-games.net/lips/index.html), and an original rom. Backup your rom, (copy and paste, rename the one to be hacked) and patch the rom. Now you can play the hacks.

As for a patcher.. I recommend: http://fusoya.cg-games.net/lips/index.htmlLIPS</a>. Only Win patcher worth the download.

So much more convenient for patching than SNEStool.

I've used SNEStool for so long that I've never used anything else. I think the tool was easier to use then some others. I'm thinking about trying out LIPS. I heard that snestool makes bigger IPS files.

Thats easy.Use snestool.Just select Use IPS,select IPS,and then the game.

Or he could use a Windows-based patcher with a GUI, which is arguably more user-friendly than a text-mode-based UI.
