So yesterday morning it happened again: nausea, shaking, numbness, incoherence. It's happened on and off for the past three years and I've just tried to play it off. Except it was really bad this time. So bad I made myself go to the hospital. (Which is a very bad idea btw, to drive oneself to the hospital under those conditions.) Normally, I'm the kind of person who just tries to tough things out. I don't take aspirin when I have a headache or the flu, I'd probably have to be dying before I'd ever call an ambulance since the damn thing's so expensive. I have a history of Type 1 diabetes in my family though, so due to the symptoms it seemed in my best interest to figure out what the hell has been going on. As it turns out, I've been having panic attacks all this time. Good thing I found out. Bad thing I have to pay a hospital bill now. Anybody here have any first-hand (or not) advice on how to cope with these attacks?

Yeah, it's one of those awesome psycho/physiological things that doesn't make sense but it still happens.
