I'm really not sure if CPS3 emulation talk is prohibited here, so I'll post anyway, BUT... if it is NOT allowed, PLEASE let me know, I will edit this post, and never speak of it again.

On to my question.

Ok, so I have some Street Fighter 3/2ndImpact/3rdStrike roms (NOT TELLING WHERE I GOT THEM SO DONT ASK AND NO I WONT SEND THEM TO YOU EITHER) along with some other CPS3 ROMs.

Now, I wasn't looking for them, they just came along with what I DID search for.

now.. I honestly have not in any way kept up with CPS3 emulation progress.. Has there been any progress? My version of MAME does FIND the games, and show them as "available" but they are in red, which means they do not work.

Is someone actually working on this?

Lastly, I know that the CPS3 system worked with a CD-ROM, but that's the thing.. within the ROM zips, there are two files that caught my attention (for each game in question)...

gamename.cue
gamename.bin

A CD image.

Any info?

Nope, none whatsoever. The driver in MAME is nothing more than a skeleton driver that defines the ROMs and specifies a CPU and does nothing else. The games are encrypted, the boards commit suicide if you breathe on them wrong, and what's more, the .BIN/.CUE files are absolutely useless in that the games will need to be redumped to be compressed into CHDs when the driver does mature, if ever, so you've wasted a bunch of bandwidth. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

That's cool. It wasn't really wasted though.. I got 9 gigs worth of stuff from what I downloaded. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>
