Windows XP Service Pack 2 is now available

while not yet available for general download, it can be found on bittorrent, and IT IS REAL. this version is gold, and was released to OEM manufactures. it was posted on MS' own windowsbeta site, and is being spread around the internet community for download.

if you can find it, run an md5 check on it to make sure it matches the following hash:

the file will be named:

WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe

i repeat, this is the real deal, and it IS final. get it if you can, and MAKE SURE YOU RUN THE MD5 CHECK BEFORE INSTALLING. there are files already floating around with tojans on it, so be careful. i've installed the update already, and it worked perfectly.

Yes, that sounds good, but the question a lot of us have is will we need another keygen to use SP2? I've heard rumours of SP2 keygens floating around.

don't worry about it....microsoft caved in. they weighed the risks of keeping pirated boxes unprotected, and decided to allow SP2 to install on those machines

HOWEVER

if you were unable to install the first service pack because of a pirated key (most likely the devil's own ver.), YOU CANNOT INSTALL SP2.

that said, most serious pirates changed their keys already anyway. not that anyone i know has actually pirated XP. because piracy is bad, mmmkay?
