Help the newbie

Okay, I've been playing Emulation for 5 years now. I recently found patches but i don't know how to apply them. I'm trying to apply the "Finalfantasy3to6-final" to my "Final Fantasy 3" Rom (legally owned since i own the cartrige).

How do i apply it?<img src=smilies/banghead.gif>

Owning the cartridge has nothing to do with it. If you downloaded the ROM from the net, it's an illegal copy /wwwthreads/images/icons/tongue.gif. But you don't have to justify having the ROM to us... we all pirate ROMs
