Lunar SSSC black screen issue

Are there any PSX emulators or video plug ins that can correctly play Lunar SSSC? I tried using Pete's fix but that removed all black screens and led to some pretty bizarre screen transitions... Any help?

Have you tried Kazzuya's plugin? That seems to help with most 2d games...or with systems that are pretty low spec..
