I'm very happy :D
I went through a terrible spell of depression early in my junior high school year. Pretty much ever since then, I have taken Effexor XR for clinical depression. A little while ago, I weaned myself off it and I haven't been on any kind of medication for about 3 and a half weeks! The only effects I've had that I can tell is that I have less patience, and I'm more cynical (I've been that way though), and a little more irritable. But I'm not sad or depressed. w00t.

Yeah, that's a good thing getting off those drugs with no ill effects...

I would be carefull about that. I would be alittle more cynical about it. lol

I've been on medication as well for depression for the past 6 months and it's been pretty bad. I look forward to the day I dont have to take the shit anymore.

My boyfriend just got taken off his meds too.. He was a bit.. angsty for the first week, but I think he's settling in now.. He's not worrying so much.. I think he really wants to get better on his own now without the meds... Any tips?

I suppose it would depend on how long he's been taking them and what they were. Ultimately, it's all in your mindset when you're coming off them, unless it was sudden. I used to take them every day and then I went to every other day. Then after a bit I went to every 3 days. Then I just simply didn't take them any more. I'd imagine weaning off them a bit helped, because it's not healthy to just quit cold turkey (your mind will have no clue what to do).
