Let's see...the Democratic Convention, which is just another venue for politicians to pat themselves on the back (not to mention that it's showing on umpteen other channels), or Jeopardy, on which history is being made? They made their choice, and thus I made mine....no NBC tonight.

Sorry, I'm going to have to agree with the network on this one. As interesting as a Jeopardy winning streak may be, I'm glad that they chose to show the thing with potential consequence to the real world...
...not that I ever watch conventions.

I thought the season of Jeopardy ended..?
**EDIT**: Yeah, I double checked. It's 6 weeks of re-runs--Jennings is going to be back on September 6th.

Ack....what the hell? Did he want a vacation or something? NBC is forgiven I guess. I'll miss his total rapeage of every contestant coming onto that show...for 6 weeks at least.

No, the shows season ended, not him wanting a vacation. Jeopardy is on at 4:30 here, it's the college tourney right now. You won't miss anything.

With the kind of ratings he's been getting Jeopardy, you'd think they'd extend the season. It actually might be reaching more people than Wheel of Fortune for once...perish the thought!

Pssh, he should start his own show with his new fortune... something similar to "Win Ben Stein's money".

Nope, nothing like that.
There are other people that would have gone that far, had the limitations not been set on five days....this is a matter of a man who is not afraid of the audience anymore and can concentrate harder on the answers that are right fucking there in the clues. Just the way I see it.

Took long enough for a game show phenomenon conversation to arrive to Michael Larson....sheesh.

I like to catch the major speeches, and I generally enjoy the conventions overall... (I liked Howard Deans referance to the "I have a scream" speech"... it's nice to see he has a sense of humor about imploding :D) --conventions give the party a chance to really put thier nominee in the spotlight officially.... so I think they're necessary and fun.
I know Arnold is speaking at the Republican convention

I think they are pretty much a HUGE waste of money (yeah....OUR money), but they do still serve a purpose. A blocked out time where people can be introduced, and get to know the candidates a bit better, and the people that are supporting them, and what they stand for. Thus far, I've watched most of the primetime DNC on C-SPAN (they're the best....no commentator bullshit to get in the way), and it has been entertaining and informating thus far. And yes, I do intend to watch the RNC as well...b/c I really want to hear what they all have to say for themselves and how they will counter the democratic presentation of them, or if they're go dirty or not and what have you. I think EVERYONE should be watching BOTH of these...at least the network coverage of it if you don't get cable....its a good way for a mass media presentation of the candidate to possibly get people to get off their ass and vote (either way they choose to vote is fine....so long as they educate themselves with the issues and make an informed decision). But enough soap-box....Edwards is up in a couple of hours, and it should prove to be interesting...

I've actually watched those channels, too. Fox cuts to commentary a lot and stays with regular programming... It's fun watching Bill and Hannity interview everybody, though :D
