Saving state with MAME32

OK, I do F7 and left shift, then a cursor comes up and prompts me to pick save position. I see no help in the help topics. Anyone? (that's your cue to save me Other Moogle)<img src=smilies/thumb.gif>

Also, I can change the ampping ofr the keyboard, but can't seem to do it for a joystick

Oh that? Just hit a key on your keyboard other than Esc, and it'll save it to that key.
