namely, how do i get it to work better with clients like shareaza?

i see files with tons of sources, yet i can't ever seem to download anything. is there something i don't know? i'm behind the hardware firewall of my linksys router, but it hasn't stopped me from getting things with bittorrent or kazaa resurrection.

once and a great while, i'll be able to get a file, but most of the time it reads "pending" on my list, and i never get anything.

does the eDonkey and gnutella2 system suck or is something wrong? i set my forwarding up like it instructs on their website, but to no avail. any suggestions?

You always want to make sure to match the port settings of your p2p client with the ports forwarded to your computer. Use google if you are stuck (linksys edonkey) for example.

I think I have said this before but it's worth repeating: Adbide by the golden rule of p2p. Don't give more than 80% of your upload to the app. And don't run more than one p2p app at a time. Also, limit the number of connections (50-100 is ok)

ed2k does NOT like to send to me when I use Shareaza :( I don't know if it's like that with any client that uses ed2k, but damn, it will sometimes say 300+, 400+, 1000+ sources and it won't download to me because everything is enqueue. G1/2 works fine though.

you're right...it's the enqueing thing that's doing me in. i've left the program on for two straight days, and i'm now making some headway. guess this requires patience.

Yeah, but I think it takes so long that it almost it useless. I was downloading (5 parts) of the art book Xenogears Perfect Works, and it took about 3 months (and I had Shareaza up a LOT) to download I think 3 parts? Each part was about 80MB. The 5th part never even had one bit of it downloaded even though it was in the same naming format as the others, so I assumed it was the same set. Either way, it's terrible.
