i'd like to make an iso file out of existing files on my hdd, instead of burning to disk and then ripping (which would be retarded). this will for vmware's iso support. (i found something wierd, MS-DOS 7.10!) . anyway is there a program that can do what i asked? (i dont want to install it until i'm sure i can get it online with my network card and everything.)

IIRC, wasn't that the verison of DOS included with Windows 98? (...as I thought Win95's verison was 7.0 or some such).

I don't think so..if I remember correctly, I used to have a Toshiba version of DOS 7.xx for an old DOS "laptop" (read....HUGE).

Then again, I don't have the disk anymore in a usable form (let's just say somehow I accidentally deleted every file on that disk), so I could be wrong.

If so, then I don't know... I was fairly certain MS-DOS 6.22 or something to that effect was the last "stand-alone" version sold by MS, but as you said, I could be wrong.

Then again, I've not ran the 9x line or a "pure" DOS in 4+ years or so, so my memory could be a little rusty.

MS-DOS 7 was the DOS packaged with Windows 95/98. I found a website that has a copy of it to download as a stand-alone OS, but I'll be honest with you, I don't think it was released in the US in that way. O.o Unless it was used for OEM purposes, maybe.

Supposedly WinImage can. I've always used discjuggler.

FireBurner works great for me, and has a fully-functional 15 day trial period.

Search for a program called "Burn to the Brim". Not only it will group files to fit cds or dvds perfectly and organize them, but also gives you the option to make an iso or isos out of all the files!
