Just had a really good 2nd interview at a company called Pest Patrol. I've been using their program in favor of ad-aware and such for a few months now....it really DOES do a better job with spyware.

Basically, it would double my salary and put me in with an awesome group of people...two of my good friends work there already. We discussed salary and benefits, when I would start, when I would work during the day, vacation...she even had me log into their system and do some test stuff to see my competency and speed.

I should know next week. With the small rent I'm paying and next to nothing for living expenses, I should finally be in the black again. I can actually afford to run zd ad free if I get this.

Yeah. Pest Patrol is pretty kickass. The only thing that annoys me is that sound it plays when it finds something. And the interface looks kinda goofy, but it does what it does. :)

Oooh..my first support question. Options -> Interface. Uncheck the sound boxes. You can't stop cookiepatrol from making sounds in v4 so I turned cookie patrol off and just let a weekly scan wipe out cookies.

Kick ass.

Pest Patrol gets a huge thumbs-up from me for removing an entry in their "spyware" database for a copy-protection device that comes with a product we ship. It feels so nice to instruct advisors to point their customers to a RELIABLE source (Pest Patrol) that does not buy into hyperbole and false statements regarding this software.

Just because a 3rd party application runs in the background and is required for the parent application to run... does not mean it's spyware... and for fuck's sake, IT DOES NOT DISABLE YOUR CD BURNER.

sorry, had to get that off my chest. :)
Kudos to anyone who figures out what I'm talking about. ;)
