I'm doing a computer job and I've run into an interesting issue. Every so often, I get a general protection fault errors and the like. I really hope this comes down to some bad RAM so I want to test that out. Unfortunately, I forgot the name of the program I once used to test RAM out.

Can anyone suggest some free programs to use?

Back in the old days, you could bite a nickel to see if it was counterfeit.

My only advice is don't do that to your RAM

...and, instead, use some torturous benchmarking program to specifically target the memory and see if you can generate a consistent GPF doing so.
