Just HOW do I apply the 0.84u1 patch? Please help; I'm a complete, total newbie at this. Also, does this apply to MAME32 as well?

Unless you fancy downloading all of the tools necessary to completely build MAME from its source code - and given that you're a total newbie, I doubt that - just download the "Mame32 Intermediate 'U' Test Release" off of http://www.classicgaming.com/mame32qa/down.htmthis site</a>.
