Is there a way to find out if a vcd or svcd (or any video file for that matter) is Pal or Ntsc? I have burned a couple of svcds lately, and when I go to play them on my g/fs dvd player they are in black in white. A little research on my part leads me to believe this is because they are Pal and her dvd player is not. So I am hoping someone here can let me know how to find this out before wasting cds, and maybe if they are in an extra generous mood, let me know how (if it can be done) I can convert said vcds/svcds into Ntsc.
Thanks for any help guys!

Try to find the framerate and dimensions of the movie. That should give you a big clue. :)
Frames Per Sec. (NTSC) 29.97
(PAL) 25
Frame Size: (NTSC) 352x240 (non-interlaced video)
(PAL) 352x288

Just get her to invest in a SCART lead (a real one, as opposed to one comprising of the 3 phono leads and an adapter) for her DVD player, or if she already has one, to make sure that RGB video is enabled in the settings. I'm in the UK, so I'm always playing US/JAP games and DVD - make sure she has that sorted, and you'll be fine.

Uh, he wants them in NTSC. He's not trying to convert to PAL, so it would be stupid and pointless to get a SCART adapter for PAL60 compatibility.

Yeah, and what I'm saying is that it might not be necessary to do a format conversion if he's able to just use a different lead instead - all he wanted was for it not to come up in black and white. But thanks all the same for pouring scorn on a guy who's just trying to help someone out.
