I've noticed that since I installed Linux Mandrake 10 my broadband connection runs slower than usual. This only applies to when I'm surfing the web, accessing pages and waiting for them to load is almost as slow as dial up. However, when I download a file (like an ISO) or use my connection to play Socom II or Resident Evil online, it works fine. Maybe it's a configuration problem within Linux, but I don't know what's causing this to occur. My connection is routed through a Linksys BEFSR11 EtherFast Cable/DSL router, which doesn't affect the connection through my PS2 or when downloading files. Previously when I ran a minimal installation of Linux with a very minimal X system, my connection worked flawlessly. If it helps, this problem occurs with Knqueror and Mozilla. Any suggestions?
