Does such a thing exist ? I know iTunes do this by default but I don't have it at the moment so I was wondering about Winamp.

Foobar2000 does this, assuming you're talking about making all the tracks you play the same volume. It's called ReplayGain.

Just search the DSP Plugins section on Winamp.com. There's probably several.
EDIT: found this one after like 1 minute of searching:

haven't tried it out but it seems to be what you're looking for.

Yeah, or failing that I used to use 'Piettro Pro' something or another normaliser, which worked really well (but was a bit of a resource hog). Bearing in mind, though, that if you're already using a DSP enhancement plugin, you should get a DSP plugin stacker. There's a good one called 'MuchFX2', if I rightly recall. Hope that helps.
