What is it like to run a GBA emulation of a game at full speed? Would the speed be similar to that of a having an actual GBA?
I'm running some games on a Celeron 2.6Ghz, but there is still lagging and skips. Also, running on VisualBoyAdvance, what does (9, 6 fps) mean in fps?

It's much better. The screen isn't eye-strainingly small and there are nice blending effects (I love 2xSai!!!!). I have beefs with the sound emulation though... it seems to be fuzzier than it should be.

Something's wrong. I have a P3 1Ghz and I get perfect framerates on everything.

That's how many frames get skipped (not drawn). You should set that to zero and have the Automatic checkbox checked. If you don't, that's probably why yours is choppy.
Those options are for slower computers which can't catch every frame.

His problem could be due to a crappy onboard graphics chip. Those things suck!

I doubt it... at that speed, all the drawing could be done through software only... without hardware acceleration. You could have the shittiest graphics hard on the market and still run at full speed.
EDIT: "graphics hard" is supposed to be "graphics card". I could correct it, but I think it's a hilarious typo, so I'm leaving it.
Edited by Disch on 07/01/04 12:40 AM.

I fixed some of the setttings to get the display at (0, 60 fps), but there is still a skip every ten or so seconds. Also the sound is gets very distorted every few seconds. Is that the closest I can get to perfect GBA emulation?

ok, press ctrl +alt+del to bring up your task manager and past you processes here (if you don't know how... with the task manager as the selected window, hold alt and press the print screen key, then open up your favorite graphics program and click paste... then save to GIF or JPG)
