just released as an RC (but i have a feeling this is going to be the final build), firefox 0.9.1 is out. you can get it ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-0.9.1/here</a>

i HIGHLY recommend downloading it. the theme is much improved, and some big crashing bugs have been ironed out. essentially, this is what the 0.9 release should have been.

But the big question is: did they fix the whole "Thunderbird doesn't want to load properly when you have multiple users" bug yet?

So, we uninstall the 9.0 and we install this one ?

EDIT: Oh, it's a complete install. I though it was an update for the 0.9 version.

Much thanks. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif> Heh, I don't even have to go to the FireFox site because I know you'll be here to keep me posted. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

This is a nice browser, but I have found some bugs. One is some kind of rap around bug with the buttons that happens everytime I change the theme. The other is that some things are not displayed correctly on web pages. And the last is the ad blocker. It stops working unless I go to the options and click okay. The bocker is checked everytime I go in it but it don't work till I have to go press okay.

Screen shot included.

did you do a clean install? when upgrading from 0.8, or any nightly, it's a good idea to start from scratch. if you get bugs under these conditions, feel free to report it under bugzilla.

when changing themes, you should restart the browser.

most times, that has to do with poor web programming. if a site sticks to the standards, it'll look perfect on firefox

as of now, many extensions are broken in firefox. because this is a pre-1.0 release, MANY things aren't going to be perfect. if these problems persist with 1.0, then we need to worry

This is the first time I used it. The web page thing happens with minor things. And restarting sometimes work but there was one time I got extra buttons and it saved that way.

That's weird. I haven't had a problem with the pop-up blocker myself. Heh, I even got a 'nuke' extension that lets me right click on ad banners and nuke them. I do that to the more annoying ones. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

Slightly off topic, but are there sites other than Mozilla Update to downlaod extensions? I need a URL Alias / Custom Search function like Avant Browser has or I won't be able to use this. I suppose I could code it myself if need be...

From the http://update.mozilla.org/extensions/FireFox Extensions</a> page. It works pretty well, and is easy. It's called Nuke Anything, I believe. Just right click on an object in a webpage, seems to work with just about anything, right click it, and choose "Remove this object" from the menu, and poof, it's gone.

I also like Firesomething...I'm currently using Mozilla Sonicunicorn it says. :P

I did a clean install of 9.1, threw in a few extensions that sounded cool for good measure, and the damn thing wouldn't run for me. It would show up in my programs menu when I hit ctrl-alt-del but wouldn't run whatsoever. After trying restarting my computer and reinstalling the software several times, I just said screw it and found an install file for 0.8 again.

I don't know why, but after uninstalling Firefox (using the uninstall app. and deleting the Application Data folder) none of the buttons in web pages work. I can't log into Gmail or anything because of this. I reverted back to 0.9 and the problem was gone.

EDIT: it appears to work if I leave 0.9 as it is and then install 0.9.1 over it. I don't like doing this but oh well. This time used the latest trunk of 0.9.1 and not the release posted on the website
