What's the best compression program ? I only know WinRAR and WinZIP. Freeware if possible. Thanks !

I have heard of a utility called 7-Zip. From what I've seen the compression is pretty good.

I have seen ultimate zip and looks really nice, almost a winzip clone. there are others that do all-in-one but I never tried them. Winrar and winzip cover 98% of my compression needs. The other 2% is the .tar.gz which I get sometimes from Linux ports or cgi scripts for apache. I use Winace for those....exceeded 794 days for evaluation so far hehe...

I use ZipGenius. It's free and supports just about every form of compression, including those mentioned above. Check it out here. (http://www.zipgenius.it/index_eng.htm)

I can personally recommend ZipGenuis. I use it for anything WinRAR doesn't support. (And that's only because WinRAR loads faster on my box.)

Well, I always use ZipMax (when I'm going to compress ZIP, of course) with other three programs (BJWFlate, DeflOpt and 7-Zip). For the rest, I use WinRAR.

Here is my ZipMax INI file, I hope it helps you.
