So, I've been noticing some dodgy textures (or rather, shading) on a couple of PC games, like this:

Admittedly, my GeForce 4 MX is technically under the system requirements for Call of Duty (it needing a DirectX 9 compatable card, I think). I just wanted to double-check whether that was really the cause of it.

Latest drivers? What graphics settings? etc....?

My graphics card in my laptop sucks, so I found a way to boost the performance so that I could play Counter-strike with good fps. What I did was I went into the OpenGL settings and disabled "asynchronous flip" and enabled "Force FXT1 Texture Compression" and it definitely gave me more frames, but it also kind of distorted texture colors/shading the same way as in the screen shot you took.

Don't know if that will help you, but worth a shot <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>
