Has anybody been to FictionPress (http://www.FictionPress.com)?
I've been writing for a while, my stuff is on http://www.FictionPress.com/~Ganheim. I've got several stories in different genres, and I accept anonymous reviews (if you haven't registered there), so go ahead and tell me what you think.
Just, try to keep the reviews constructive. It frustrates me when people leave reviews like 'it sucks'.
Reviews like 'what happened to this guy', 'what does this mean' or 'this doesn't make sense' does help. Those are great, I'd be happy to receive reviews that help improve my writing.

i was reading the first story, and i was struck by the awkwardness of your verb tense. while present progressive can be effective for narration, i think you need a little more work using it. examples of good present tense usage can be found by reading any number of screenplays. by nature of the format, it HAS to be in present progressive, so those who write excellent scripts are masters of that form of narration.
anyway, i'm a real stickler for grammar, mostly because i'm part of the game myself. as far as the story goes, i was reading Hackers, and thought you showed excellent creativity. if you can hone that into a more fluid type of prose, you'll go places.
last but not least, KEEP READING. and not just sci-fi. read EVERYTHING. i went from oscar wilde to ian fleming to j.r.r. tolkein to dan brown to bernard shaw, and it really keeps your mind open to how so many disparate styles can all work beautifully.
good luck

I think you're showing a great deal of creativity and imagination. Just keep on doing it.
And you're right - creativity cannot be turned on and off like a faucet. I especially like the Hackers piece. Nice work.

Thanks for the encouragement, it helps to know that other people are interested and want me to keep writing.
By the way:

Um, which story?
On FictionPress, you can submit reviews on the chapter where you think the problem is (or just anywhere, I'll get an email notice whenever I get a response, unlike this webboard where I have to manually check, and sometimes forget). You don't have to have an account on FictionPress, I accept anonymous (non-logged-in) reviews, so please use that.

I'd like to keep reading, the only problem is finding things to read and then finding the time to read them. I have been delving into different books, I've read authors form Isaac Asimov to Michal Chriton (Timeline and Starship Troopers), to a few others. Again, thanks for the encouraging criticism.
