Finally got my new internet connection after moving to Pennsylvania about three weeks ago. I'm pretty much settled except I still have to register my vehicle and get my PA driver's license. And a job, definately need a job. Since moving to PA and getting back online, I've drained my checking account from $1,000 to $185. I should've known that a debit card and a broadband connection would equal trouble.

Thank you. I finally got my PA driver's license. Is it me, or are DMV employees assholes no matter which state you live in? And do these places always have to smell like bad b.o?

Actually, I was surprised that the ones here (New Jersey) turned out to be pretty nice, though generally, my DMV experiences are bad.

You live in Jersey? I didn't know that. Where in Jersey do you live? I'd rate my experience at the Jersey DMV as bad as my PA DMV, only because I had to wait two hours for my license after I took the test in Jersey, and the prick in PA hassled me since I only brought one proof of residency.

It's government man....you have to follow their rules exactly or they'll send you home to get the right shit....and they dont care if it's 3:30 and you fucking got there at 9:00. Happened to me in VA....couldn't transfer a title b/c it was a dual title, even with a signed notorized waiver. It sucks, but you have to play by their rules, and I'm sure when you get the same shit day in and day out about people not being able to read and follow directions, you'd be pretty pissed off too. Hell, when I worked tech support I got that way...I can't even imagine what kind of idiots (not insinuating that you are one) they have to deal with on a daily basis at the DMV.

There was some douche bag talking on his mobile phone while I was waiting to get my license. But the thing is, there were signs posted everywhere, walls, doors, desks, etc., that stated "no cell phones." Yet this fucktard continued to talk on his phone, even after one DMV employee told him no cell phones. The DMV employee got right in his face and told him again, yet the guy continued to talk on his phone. Then he walked outside and continued to talk on his cell phone. I guess he thought he was important. What amazed me about the situation was that the employee remained calm while this guy knowingly broke a rule. To me, that would be cause for not just a DMV employee, but an employee anywhere that bans cell phones, to blow up on the guy. If it's a posted rule and you broke it, you should suffer the consequences. He got a talking to by one of the nicer DMV people, me with my piercings and tattoos, I was treated like a terrorist suspect. Double standard I guess, I dunno. I don't even see a point in what I just wrote.

I'm at Princeton and there's a DMV just up route 1. I'm not saying it was a pleasant experience (had to have a million forms of documentation and wait in absurdly long lines), but the employees were pretty nice to me.
