Last night we (me, D Money, N, C, S (N's room mate), as well as my 3 lady friends from another college) went out to eat after line dancing. Somehow we got on the discussion of computers and N said how hers keeps shutting down and screwing up and then S (her roommate) said hers was doing the same thing. I graciously offered to give up my Sunday and come fix it.

Today rolls around, N and I chat for a bit online, and then I head over to campus. Their dorm room is actually pretty large...and very nice looking. They said they did a MASSIVE clean up like 5 minutes before I got there, but nonetheless it was a pretty neat room.

Off to work...the campus network is SOOOOO SLOW so the entire process took HOURS. I got there around 3 and I didn't leave until 9:30. Both were infected with that new Sasser worm...LSASS dies and makes the machine reboot. I did the old trick of waiting for it to happen, setting the clock back a few hours, and then the shutdown gets delayed a few hours....neato. 47 updates to XP on N's machine...like 25 on S's machine. Spyware wasn't that bad. Uninstalling Norton on N's machine was TERRIBLE...it took like an hour. It was ALL manual since the DLL for NavInst was dead. Machine worked GREAT when I was done.

During the middle she was like (for the 20th time), "SAM!!!! What...do..you...want...to...eat?" While it's totally improper for a female to pay for dinner, let alone fetch it for you, I finally gave in and just said "surprise me". She brought back and made me chicken tenders. Yummy.

Either way, the last hour that I was there N and I were alone....S went to the pool to do some laps. First time we were ever really "alone" for a long time. I figured it would be kind of uncomfortable...like I wouldn't know what to do. No way.

It was comfortable silence while she did some work and I did some work. The thought actually hit me at the time it was happening...it was actually really pleasant. She was laying on the floor on her stomach writing some stuff...it was really hard to resist the tempation to check her out, but I managed to stay focused. I think it was the first time I ever really let my guard down and was just the normal, loser me. It actually reminded me of the ex...when she and I would just sit around and do nothing. Good times.

Also during the time, I got to see a whole bunch of pictures of her and her family. She looks nothing like her parents, but they look really cool. I bet her dad is the kind of dad that all the girls would flock to during sleepovers because he's just "so cool". She looked quite a bit different then than she does now...hair was darker...she looked a bit heavier. Didn't get to see her younger years, but I bet she was a really cute baby.

Now I'm like totally lost in thought and have no idea where I'm going with this. I did NOTHING today except sit around in the dorm room and update windows/scan for viruses.....but it was a grrrrrrrrrrreat day <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>
