Well, I figure in the tiny amount of time I got off Uni, I'd have a look at what this MMORPG business is all about. A few hours spent downloading and installing Ragnarok Online, and I'm good to go. Eventually, I figure out what the hell's going on and set about doing a spot of levelling up. So there I am, obliviously hacking away at various beasties whilst watching tv, and I unwittingly wander over and take a swipe at this one that a couple of guys were already working on.
Okay, it was a dumb thing to do - it steals some of their exp and is generally an uncool thing to do. So they're all like: "WTF stupid weak noob". I realise what I'm up to, apologise and wander off. And it occurs to me a few minutes later that I'm 21 years old, 3 months off graduating from Law with honours with a good job secured in the capital, chairman of committees, a card-carrying member of Mensa and Amnesty International, and here I am getting reprimanded by a couple of greasy 15-year olds for taking a swipe at an animated monster in a virtual world, stealing imaginary experience points. Moreover, I actually felt guilty for it! Holy shit! I hate Ragnarok Online.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've to learn another three of the nine basic skills. It's gonna be a long night.
