Over the last three days, I've had nothing but nightmares.

I have no idea why they've started all of a sudden, and they're totally out of sync with reality. They have nothing to do with anything, but it doesn't make them any less horrifying. Oddly, they started when I began playing FFXI. I really, really hope there isn't a relationship between the two. On another note, I'm coming down with a cold, which might be another reason for them.

They're starting to deprive me of my sleep. Help.

Huh...strange that they'd come on for no reason. I haven't been sleeping well myself lately. I think it's my 'relationship problems' as of lately.

Hope you get better, so to speak. Go do some relaxing stuff before you go to bed. Maybe that'd help.

Well, last night was the last straw, so to speak. I've decided to make some changes in my sleep schedule. I'm going to start going to sleep early and waking up early in the morning, as opposed to going to sleep at 1AM and waking up at 9AM.

I gotta start doing this. I've been staying up too late lately.

I heard that 7 hours is optimal, so I'm going to try 10PM - 5AM. It'll be a huge change, but I've realized that I'm a morning person, so it's probably for the best.

I just need to start sleeping period....I got a whopping 2 hrs last night, 4 hrs the night before, and 5 hrs the night before that.....problematic? I THINK SO!!! When you've sucked down 2 Red Bulls, used Shower Shock soap, worked down 2 cups of coffee, one of which had Sky Rocket in it, and are working on your 10th caffeinated mint.....and you're still tired....then yeah, I think its a bit of a problem....I need some fuckin sleep....

Lately, my sleep schedule has consisted of randomly dispersed naps throughout the day and night, usually totaling 7 or 8 hours. At this time yesterday, I was in the middle of an 8 hour sleep. Today, I slept from 9 AM to 1 PM. Two weeks ago, I was more regular, sleeping from 10 AM to 5 PM for a few days straight.

I usually get between 6 - 7 hrs a night but on the weekends I'll nap and sleep sometimes 10 - 14 hrs on a friday or saturday since I'll stay up half the night till around 3am and sleep right till 2 or later in the afternoon just because I have nothing I have to do those days.

Eating too much before sleep can be a cause of nightmares.

We've talked about sleep in my psychology class, and they've outlined some interesting stuff:

1. Not everyone needs the same amount of sleep. Just about everyone should get at least 6 hours, but some people should get more like 8 or 9.
2. Just about everyone under 20 should get 8-10 hours of sleep every day.
3. You will sleep better and more reliably if you go to bed at the same time every night, and get up at the same time every morning.
4. Taking long naps and dividing out your sleep isn't a good idea, because you don't cycle through the stages of sleep normally, and you'll miss out on some them.
5. You bio clock operates based on sunlight, so it's better to go to bed after it gets dark and get up at dawn, whenever that is. Seasonal changes can play hell with this, especially with daylight savings time.

I've personally found these statements to be true, and as much as I've tried to follow them, I've slept better.

I also used to live nextdoor to a really nice fellow who was a doctor of sleep, whatever that's titled. He said that in his experience, teenagers all needed a good 9.5 hours every day, while most others should get about 7.5. This guy was cool, in his building he kept a room with about a dozen beds, and people could just come there and sleep pretty much any time.
