Well I'm not exactly a "God Fearing" man. But I know some people pray for me sometimes like some of my girlfriend's moms. And probably my parents pray for me sometimes since they are religious. My attitude on this has always been: Even though I don't have much of an active relationship with the Godly stuff, it can't hurt for others to call in a favor from on high on my behalf.

So any of you religious people out there that want to -- keep me in your thoughts.

I have a slight chance of getting my old job back with Novell. Hopefully I'll get an interview and we'll see how it goes. This would be really good for me. I want a good job with responsibility and good money and stuff. I don't want to work at 7-ELEVEN.

So yeah, for those so inclined -- pray! Thanks.

Yeah well, thanks for the thoughts. But the managers of my old department have shut me down before I even had a chance to interview. So it must be something personal. My coworker, who's job is up for grabs and who wanted me to replace him, said he doesn't know why they feel this way, but in no uncertain terms they didn't even want me to come in for an interview.

Pretty strong stuff. Guess I got my answer to why they laid me off in the first place.

I didn't have my hopes up too high in the first place. I rarely have too much hope these days. I think about how fun it would be to just walk off into the wilderness and get lost forever and live old school off the land. But not Amish style with a community -- hermit style with bears and deer and antelope.

Yeah but I am kind of bummed. Somehow rejection of a professional nature hurts me worse than rejection in love relationships. I think it's cuz I've had my share of those, but never been rejected professionally except by this company.

I'm going to go drink now.
