Hello again,
I am again spending a lovely (okay, it's raining outside) Sunday working on hubby's toy.
He has found an old arcade TV (like the kind in front of racing style games) and has now informed me about 10 times now how cool it will be. I can say that I am not quite jumping up and down in delight at the thought of that size tv. (Though, WOW would look pretty damn awesome on it. )
Now current issue. I have installed Mame32, but hubby, being a bells/whistles kinda guy, wanted something "cooler" looking so I installed Maximus. I find Maximus to be a big pain in the butt. Like fashion models, really pretty to look at but too much of a pain in the *** to deal with.
So I am looking for a pretty frontend with a decent set up in back.
Also is there an easy way to get trackball working? I got it working in Mame32 but can't get it working in Maximus.
Thanks again.
HH

No one has a favorite? Hmm, I find that hard to believe. Okay, I will start...I like WOW, course i can't play it because I am being a wonderful and amazing wife and playing with script errors. Yep, new question posted soon. Stay tuned.
For those that still care, I sucked it up and did some trouble shooting. And yes, I know I should have done it first, but for some reason life conspires against my sitting around playing with computers all day.
Script error was in Maximus when importing XML game list, it kept giving script error of Out of date range. I am running Maximus and Mame32 (couldn't get trackball working in anything but Mame32). I downloaded mame0136b.exe, to start with basics, sent Maximus to mame0136b.exe and it worked. I changed path back to Mame32.exe and still working.
And now back to our regularly scheduled wow time.

just looking for Arcade-Style emulation ? or snes/nes/sega/n64/psx etc?
I have little to know experience with Mame, but i been thinking about it a lot lately)
My favorite emulators are : Zsnes/snes9x, VisualBoyAdvance, Psxfin, Nestopia, Project64, oh, and a sega one i used that was good was called Fusion.
Good luck!
Oh, and check out Ashen Empires some time, unless you need 3d graphics to have a good time. Wow is okay for those who like it im sure. I don't mind admitting that im a bit older and as such enjoy the iso view of AE.

Not sure about that, but if you're asking favorite emulators in general...
Snes: probably Zsnes or Bsnes if you have the CPU for it
GBA: VBA-M
PSX: ePSXe (still)
PS2: PCSX2 (not that there's many choices)
N64: Project64
NES: Nestopia
Genesis: Kega Fusion (think that's what Burzy was talking about)
Older PCs: DOSbox

He mentioned it in his first post - he´s looking for a decent MAME-frontend for his imagined friend huppy;)
Perhaps move to the frontend category here on Zophar!?
Otherwise, if "huppy" wants to spend some money, this one looks cool: http://www.gameex.net/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx

Well yeah, but I saw you mention it...so...
I'd give a suggestion for a frontend but I usually just use Mame Plus! and I like it's interface. I don't think it's an interface specifically for arcade cabinets though or anything like that.
