I am moving, finally. The realtor was right about the market being hot this time of year, we have two offers on our house and there's the possibility of a third on Wednesday. Instead of waiting to see if anything goes through, I gave my notice at Dunkin' Donuts, something I should have done about two and a half years ago. My last day is next Friday, the 27th, and then I'm out of there. Now, I won't be moving to the Pennsylvania home until the end of March, the very latest being the first week of April, because I have to tend to things in New Jersey. Once I take care of what I needed to, I'm gone. I figure I will lay low and get used to the new area before getting another job or meeting new people. Once I'm comfortable and know my way around the area, I will try to get a job as a stock person at Wal Mart (I'm aiming high <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>). I plan on saving up some extra money to purchase a new vehicle and then I will try to find a career or go back to school. I don't want to go the Dunkin' Donuts route with Wal Mart and work there for almost two years, earn next to nothing and be treated like shit by the customers and boss. If everything falls apart, maybe I'll move in with my sister down in Bradley Beach or just enlist in the Navy.
It's funny, though, because I thought I would have been much happier when I quit Dunkin' Donuts. Although I still have over a week left, I feel a little sad and empty. I guess it's because I probably won't see any of my co-workers again and some of them I truly liked working with, even my boss. The asshole customers and bad pay I won't miss. Someone asked me if I will work for Dunkin' Donuts in Pennsylvania and I told them no. Never again will I work for Dunkin' Donuts or any quick-service restaurant for the rest of my life.
