Hey guys, just registered today since you guys are the folks to come to for Emulation help--or so I hear. :D
I'm trying to play a game on my PSXeven emulator, and I'm having trouble. Before, I was struggling to get the game's sound and graphics to stop going at super speed. Once I got my settings right on that, however, I have a problem where the game seems to think the keys are sticky, meaning that if I try to move my character to the right, he starts walking into a wall for three minutes. It's making the game unbearable and unplayable.
I don't know very much about emulators, so maybe this is an easy problem to fix, maybe not. But if anyone could help me, I'd be very appreciative.

psxeven isn't that popular of an emulator. Is there a reason you are using that one specifically? have you tried PSX emulator (http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/) or ePSXe (http://www.epsxe.com/)?

It's the only one that works. I've tried to get other ones working, and I've even downloaded BIOS stuff and dragged in the proper BIOS (scph1001 I think) into the folder where it says I should put it and none of that works. Am I doing something wrong?

Could you tell us the game you are trying to run?

well, I've never heard of people having trouble with this game, so let's walk though this with the easiest emulator to configure, psx emulator. What errors is it giving you when you run it? Have you tried another game?

I try to open the PSX emulator and I get an error message that says d3dxp_26 was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. But...I don't...install it at all. How can I RE install it if I never installed it in the first place?

I figured you'd run into that problem.
Try this (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en) and let me know if that works for you.

Ok, the emulator is working fine now, thanks. But...
It doesn't seem to have any memory cards. I tried using Save States, but after playing the game USING Save States (I even made two) I went back to try and load them and they were both gone! That's about 2 hours of progress vanished, which ticks me off. Why can't I save my game?

The savestates thing doesn't make much sense to me, but you may have to create the Memory Card images if it didn't come with them or make them itself. You can do that with a program such as Memcard Rex (http://www.zophar.net//utilities/psxutil/memcardrex.html).
