three was too many, so i decided to narrow the field to just one.
and who did i pick? let's get a recap of our three lovely finalists:
we have contestant one, a wonderful, but sick girl. shy to the point of being extremely frustrating
contestant two, a strikingly attractive graphic designer. very fun chick. knowledgeable about many things, quick wit. she lives fast, something i'm not used to.
contestant three. a friend of a friend of a friend. likes ska, also does art. very nice, but slightly awkward.
and our winner is....
CONTESTANT NUMBER 2!!! come on down!!
it was a no brainer in the end, and i'll tell you why. the grandeur of sick girl was built in my head. she always seemed so wonderful, but i never really knew her. and she never really tried to let me in. though she was nice, i felt like she was silently erecting a little wall around herself.
contestant three entered everything too late. while i nice girl, she doesn't seem to have an extraordinary amount of confidence. deal breaker for me.
so what about the winner? well, when we went out last night, i mentioned my thinkpad for some reason, and she asks"what OS do you use on it?" now this girl didn't strike me as a nerd at all, so the question was kinda odd coming from her. "XP, mostly" i tell her. and this is her god-honest reply: "you should use linux". i almost cried tears of joy. now she isn't perfect (she lives veeery fast, and maybe drinks a wee bit too much for my taste), but these might be imperfections i could, dare i say it...learn to love? whoa now...not jumping the gun, but still.
hopefully this'll be the last of the dating-go-round for a little while
i'd like to thank all our contestants for playing. as a parting gift, you'll be receiving a complimentary box of rice-a-roni, the san francisco treat.
thanks and goodnight
