As far as I know, there aren't any. I could be wrong though. 9th sage would know.

ds emu? really? how would that even work? using the wii pointer as the stylus? how would it know when you are "touching" it?

your safest bet is to install homebrew browser first, then install apps from the on-screen GUI.

pardon the multiple postings, btw

If I had a wii, I'd emulate all over it.
And then some.

There is a beta release of WiiSX, which is a PSX emulator (the same team recently released a Wii64 beta as well, which is what you think it is...a Nintendo 64 emulator). It's a beta, so it has some bugs, but Symphony of the Night (for example) runs pretty well on it. By the next release I expect it'll go from decent to awesome.

Also, I don't think I'd expect a great DS emulator any time soon...interestingly someone is trying to port one of the ones that use SDL to the Wii though (I can't remember which one it is at the moment).

Does Nintendo brick your system if you have homebrew on it? I thought I read something about not being able to update your system (sort of like the PSP firmware issues).

They aren't purposely bricking anyone's system I don't think. If you heard reports of that, it's probably because they updated Boot2 (which is the first part in the Wii's boot process that can actually be updated) in a recent update, and evidently some people have had issues with it (how widespread is anyone's guess). I guess their Boot2 update code isn't so hot? Either that or those people turned off their systems in mid update.

They have been doing things to combat homebrew (mostly because of the pirates I daresay). The recent update deleted the Homebrew Channel (among other things, such as installing somethings that are meant to get rid of the tools pirates install...kind of a shame since I use such things for the convenience of having a hard drive full of my games that I bought) for example, though there is an update that fixes this and it's really no harder to run homebrew on the system now as it was a month ago. Actually, that's what the Boot2 update was for...I assume it was to get rid of BootMii, which is something you can install that lets you run stuff right near the start of the boot process, independent of the system menu or anything. not a ton uses it yet, but it's a handy short cut to the HBC, and it's GREAT for backing up your Wii system's NAND flash.

It's very ironic that people who have homebrew installed already and have the know how (such as myself) can technically update the system manually and avoid most kinds of problems like this (well, except the HBC getting nixed, but that was fixed by Team Twiizers pretty quick).

Do you know if homebrew will work on the most recent update? I updated like a week or two ago, but I'm kind of interested in trying out homebrew. Any chance I can use homebrew to add saves from a flash card to a GCN memory card? When I got my Wii, I was really hoping I could do that, as I lost my some of my Gamecube stuff when I moved and didn't really want to completely start over in certain games.

Also, your comment reminds me of when I bought Sacred, but I couldn't play it because of Starforce being incompatible with Alcohol. And most of my use of that program is completely legitimate (and I'm pretty sure it took me all of five seconds to find a nocd for Sacred). I really hate anti-piracy stuff, even if I understand the reasoning behind it, I think it tends to be counterproductive. I haven't played Sacred since I bought it, and I haven't bought Sacred 2 yet, though I may at a later date.

Yeah, homebrew works fine. Literally a couple days later they had a fix. If you want to install the Homebrew Channel (probably the best way to run homebrew) you can use what is known as BannerBomb (http://bannerbomb.qoid.us/) (you first copy over any private folder you might have on your card to your computer, delete it from the SD, then copy the folder within the BannerBomb v2 archive to your card. Then you launch it from the SD channel and it exploits a flaw in the banners that lets you load an elf or dol executable file named boot.elf or boot.dol from the root of the SD card) . You'll need an SD card, but other than that, it requires no games.

As far as Gamecube saves...I'm not entirely sure. You can try using this (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/GCMM). Some of that stuff I've heard has wonky compatibility (meaning some cards don't work) but I don't think I've specifically tried that app. Actually, didn't know there WAS an app like that, that supported SDHC. I'll have to check it out and see how it works.
