heh sounds like me. I'm unemployed and played so much, in the past week or two, I had to take a couple days off to stop the insanity.

Incidentally, me and a bunch of friends are playing tonight but either battlenet or our ISP is fucked up and we keep getting disconnected. I think it's battlenet because one of the guys is playing only in his own game and he isn't getting DC'd even tho he's on the same network as us.

Were you actually playing at least, or were you doing MF runs? If you did 13 hours of MF runs, then I dunno how you could be sane afterwards, although I myself have done like 4 or 5 hours of MF runs.

I haven't done any MF runs. My MF isn't that good yet, it's around 50%, and I have no good items to jack it up.

Basically, I played through nightmare difficulty from act 3 to act 5 solo. I got some unique and a couple of set items, but I lost them when the game which I burned in for 10 minutes decided to go away when I switched over to my mule. It was a bummer. <img src=smilies/cwm10.gif>

I'm having a really hard time in hell, though. I've got a cold based Bowazon, and like 50% of everything in hell is cold-immune. What a pain in the ass when you can't do 1024-1134 points of cold damage per hit on them.

Plus my bow sucks. Zephyr on a rune bow. Argh. I also need some dual leech items.

The longest time I spent playing an online PC game was two hours and that was with Duke Nukem 3D over Heat.Net. Good times.

Basically, considering you have a Bowazon, lots of MF or not, you should spend some time to get a good quality bow...most likely shoot for getting a Buriza, although it might not be as easy if you have 1.10, because I hear the MF running in 1.10 decreases in success the more you do it on a particular super unique, which sucks ass cuz sometimes I'd do a good 50 or 60 Meph runs in a day and get a bunch of good stuff. A good bow like Buriza does wonders....I even put a Buriza on the 2nd weapon of my Javazon, with no bow skills or anything, so that I wouldn't be wasting javelins on poison immune lightning enchanteds. Buriza does all elements of damage, and a hell of a lot of physical damage, so it does somewhat well on almost everything, and if you copy a socket quest and copy 3 Shael's to put in it, it's at a reasonable firing speed.

Anyone remember Kali for DOS? I spent more time trying to get the damn thing to work than playing any games, but when I actually got into a decent match of Duke3D or Warcraft II... Man, oh man.

Yeah, but they nerfed the thing in patch 1.1 to no longer have 100% pierce, which is a bummer. Sounds like it's still pretty good, though.

Right now I need a Lum rune, so I can create Smoke out of a set of ancient armor that I have lying around, and a four socketed matriarch or grand matriarch bow for Passion. Both of those would give me an extreme boost to the effectiveness of my bowazon.

BTW....while playing today, I finally met the ultra bugged MSLE (Multi Shot Lightning Enchanted) unique. A vile archer. That bitch was EVIL. Holy shit. One shot == dead bowazon. Me and a sorc finally took her down, after getting killed 6 times each. <img src=smilies/eek13.gif>

Damn...I mean its piercing never really mattered to me using a javelin mostly, but I'm sure that sucks for burizons, even if they raised the damage it does (which I think they did if I'm not mistaken). Oh well.

MSLEs are pretty damn bad depending. Obviously the worst of them are MSLE little tiny bitches from Act 3. You're dead before you even realize that he was MSLE or that you hit him, lol. As an avid Lightning Fury user, PILEs are more annoying to me, because the only thing I have to kill them are whatever elemental damages my stuff gives me besides lightning, and the poison clouds from Plague Javelin, which is a pain because you have to wait 5 seconds between throwing each one. I remember once, I was playing against the ancients, and I know one particular ancient had LE and either stone skin or PI. No kidding, it took me 15 minutes to kill him...15 minutes to kill 1 piece of shit ancient! I shot all 350 arrows I had with my Buriza, then threw what probably amounted to at least 100 plague javelins. I mean it was like clockwork and I wasn't in danger of dying or anything...it was just one of the most monotonous Diablo experiences I've ever had.

It's crazy though....sometimes I'll come across a PILE or MSLE, and strangely enough, I can Jab him to death and not die, even though 99% of the time that's definitely not recommended. I think thats when I had a bunch of stuff socketed with perfect diamonds, but still. The most ironic thing in the world is that in Hell vs. Baal, I didn't die, my merc didn't die, and all I did was run up to him and Jab him to death. I actually had a much rougher time with Nightmare Baal for some reason even though I had much of the same weapons and armor.

Oh man. Tell me about it. I had problems with Undead Stygian Dolls in Act 3 nightmare. I'd have three of them run up to me and start hitting me, so naturally I jump at free lunch and bust them with a freezing arrow. Bad idea. When they die and they're close to me, for some reason they do ungodly amounts of damage to my bowazon. Killing one while they're next to me is a good way to lose 3/4ths of my life. Killing three of them with a Freezing Arrow makes my Bowazon deader than a hooker in a ditch at dawn.

So you'll know it's me if you ever join a game and see a bowazon running with 20 of those things in hot persuit(sp?). Argh.

It was actually so hard and so laggy to play online back then that I never did get into multiplayer games until like 2000.

I remember playing Descent and Quake on a LAN back in high school, though. In Descent, the plasma cannon and mega missiles owned. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

i think that a barb with a heavy crossbow with a very fast firing speed+ 150% damage + 80 cold damage, its name was like the meteroric crossbow of cold hell or something
