Hey all, got a question in relation to Mega man 3 editing with MegaFLE X.
I've been messing around with this for a while and everything has been working great, but I have two questions/problems.
I've been editing the Doc Robot levels (those guys that have the mm2 robot master powers). When ever I beat them on a test run, the level continues. Like I cant complete it and am stuck. What I did was shorten the levels so when you start, you jump right into a fight with them one after the other. But you don't port out when done.
The other issue I have is the gates don't work, you can pass right through them.
This is a basic edit, I'm not going crazy with it. Just shortening the levels and making the masters harder.
Any info? TY

Having never used MegaFLE X or played Mega Man 3, my guess would be that there is some kind of "trigger" at some point in the level that has to be passed to inform the game that a boss battle is imminent. Are you starting the levels directly in the boss room, or does the player still have to walk through the hallway immediately before the boss level? If it's the former, try leaving the hallway intact and see if that fixes the problem. If that doesn't fix the problem, I'd suggest leaving the level in tact and playing through it. If things proceed as normal, then chop off a chunk of the (but not the entire) level from the beginning and play through it again. If it works, then chop off another chunk and continue until such time as it doesn't work, then examine the chunk which, upon removal, broke the game and see if you can find any such trigger.

Alternatively, there appears to be another Mega Man 3 editor recently released by the name of MM3Edit which can be found on this site (http://www.angelfire.com/pq/jumparound/), so you might try it out and see if it encounters the same problem as MegaFLE X.

Hey. Actually I forgot to mention that program. I was using that at first to edit the levels, set checkpoints etc.. Then I used Megaflex to do touch ups with boss damage and anything else that MM3Edit didn't do. Did the first full test and discovered that problem.
I then figured out how to edit levels with Megaflex, did everything all over again, then found the problem was still there. At first I was wondering if it has anything to do with the fact the gates don't work. However with the regular robot masters, even though the gates don't work, you still win when they die. Gonna keep messing around with it....see if I can bypass any glitches.

Ohh, and another reason I switched to MegaFlex is because MM3edit crashes on me a lot. I got Vista :/
