Anyone tried it ? I like it a lot. If you didn't know, Symphony Of The Night is a straight sequel to Rondo Of Blood. Sure, the PC Engine version is in japanese, but hell, there's not a lot of dialogue and the game is entirely playable.

if I get a PSP I'll probably play that version. I also want to play the reworked (voiceover-wise) SotN as well.

Never tried the PSP version (as I don't have one) but the PCengine version is amazing. I actually legitimately bought it from the Wii's Shop Channel (oh how I wish Nintendo hadn't locked the Shop regions down more since then...used to be incredibly simple to view the shop from other regions).

Always wanted to try it.
It's pretty much the last of the traditional, non Symphony style titles, I believe.

I would say. It's somewhere in between Symphony and something like Dracula's Curse.

I also find the main baddies name amusing. Shaft.
I can dig it.

I thought PoR was the first anime Castlevania and I was kind of pissed about Ayami Kojima's style being ditched -- and then I played this and saw the cutscenes.
The game is a lot easier with Maria.

Yeah, you wouldn't think it would be, but it can be (assuming you're good at avoiding getting hit, otherwise you're just about screwed if you mess up a couple of times).

Yes its an awesome game as i play the real disc (bouught from ebay for £5) in my Xbox on the PC Engine emulator Hugo.
I also have the PSP version and its just as awesome. I don't mind the RPG Castlevania's but give me the arcade type any day.

Wow, you got a pretty good deal on that one I think.

Rondo of Blood was awesome, all though I admit, its sequel Nocturne in the moonlight was more enjoyable. Rondo of blood plays like Dracula X. but with a few different advances. Like playing as Maria, and a tad bit faster game play. Its okay as a castlevania game, but I would still play Castlevania 3 on the nes or Nocturne in the moonlight on sega saturn before playing Rondo of blood

Actually, it was the other way around I think. Rondo came first, then Dracula X (which was essentially an inferior port, though it's still not a terrible game).
