I have a bit, not as much as I probably should though. ;) Seemed pretty cool what I played of it.

I got to the water palace (2nd castle) - it looked like a complicated maze, so I stopped.

After struggling with the guard house for 4+ hours (this is when the patch was first released who knows how long ago already), I got as far as the water palace or whatever the dungeon was and sucked vs the Armos, then beat the butterfly easily, then stopped. Euclid really needed to balance it out better...

I never understood difficulty hacks to be honest. when it reaches a certain level, it just isn't fun you know?

Okay, in that guard house, I found Zelda, then went to get the sword from Link's uncle... As soon as I went there, Zelda disappeared! Okay, now I have the sword. I go back outside, and it's still raining. Zelda is nowhere to be found! Is this like an active event collision? Two events colliding, makes the other one disabled? Oh, well... shit happens. xD

Just tried it. And here's a stupid question, but they say to use a .smc file that has a 'header'.

But what the hell does that mean?

I got it working, but I'm still heavily curious.

Well, copiers that are able to dump copies of SNES game ROMs out of the cartridges often add a header. It'll usually have a game name, or some other information for the use of the copier. Not all copiers do this, and indeed, if not for the copiers most ROMs wouldn't have 'em. Many ROM hacks will tell you if you should use a headered or non-headered ROM for the sake of avoiding confusion..if a hack was (for example) expecting a rom with no header and you applied it to a headered rom, it wouldn't work because the header would in a fashion move all the rest of the data a bit as far as the patcher is concerned (and vice versa).
