I assume you are buying it? Looks like a nice place. You would obviously want to go through many things inside to make sure you aren't getting a giant hole. Pipes (faucets mainly), outlets, insulation, etc. What are the dimensions of the house?

yes, but i'm currently looking for a wife.

toilet/sink. a bathroom is exactly that...BATH room.

going to do an in-depth tour one of these days. my concern is no central air. the hell with heat....i need massive air conditioning in the summer.

If it's not possible to get central air, do the best ya can with ceiling fans, regular fans, and a dehumidifier. That dehumidifier will rack up the electric bill, but in end, it's much better to be in comfort than sticky to everything in your house.

This is one that you'll here from any professional. Hire a respected contractor *ask friends who've bought homes for referrals* and have him check the hell out of the place like Lenophis recommended, he'll find stuff that may have been repaired halfass, foundation rot, dry rot, undersized plumbing, wiring, exterior drainage, ect. He'll find stuff someone not in the trade would never find, and have him list all areas/items inspected with his opinions and have him sign the inspection report in case of later legal action, see a lawyer for the laws in your state on this, they do vary from state to state.
Most important, make sure you sign a contract that makes perfectly clear that any leans or outstanding taxes on the house are first revealed and either paid or totally exempting you from responsibility in writing. You may end up paying the pro's that do this several thousand dollars but it will save/protect you from ending up having to pay much much more in the future and these people should garrantee their work in writing also if they are true professionals and any mistakes they may make you should be able to sue them for the expenses incurred because of that mistake. For example if you roof caves in from dry rot and the contractor you hired to inspect the house before purchase listed that the roof was in good condition in writing he could very well be responsible for the payment of the repair/replacement of the original roof. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

you're required by law in PA to disclose information about the house....it goes into some big detail like basement flooding, roof repair, drainage, crime, death, etc.

doesn't replace an inspector, but it gives me some legal recourse if the house turns out to be a lemon.

At least you have that protection. It's a nice looking piece of property. I'd check out the insides and be most worried about the roof.
Aside from that, it looks like a winner.

Eh, you could probably get central air installed for a few thousand or so...the equipment costs about $1000, but its paying them to install it that's the bitch.

We have the very same law in NH, but as any good real estate agent will tell you, you should have a check done on the property for leans ect., the guy that sold my uncle his current house was not required to disclose the lean that was on the house, my uncle got a search done which cost about a $1000 and found out there was a lean on the house for $10,000 which he would have been responsible for if he didn't get it in writing that the lean had been paid off before the sale, so my uncle accepted the lean responsibility on the property but got $12,000 of the price of the house in exchange which was great, so he actually saved his ass because that check. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

I don't know a lot about real estate, but as far as appearances go, the outside looks nice. It looks as if the front yard has been kept up well. If the inside has been kept up as well as the yard, I'd live there.

sounds like a very nice place, and they are not asking too much...you should consider the neighborhood, the type of area, and the such though too...so, i cannot make a decent judgement on it as i do not know of any of this, looks very nice from the picure though...<img src=smilies/thumb.gif>
