okay when i say new, i do mean new. i have the gba emulator figured out, but that wasn't hard. what i need to know is how to make playstation emulators work. my goal is to get all of the final fantasy games on emulators. ergo i need to know what i am doing. and i'm not really a computer genius so i can keep up but some things may have to be broke down.

if you are new, give pSX (http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/) a go. It's the easiest Playstation emulator you will find.

okay thanks for the help. i just have oneproblem though, i have a vsta, and the emulator won't run. hwever itwill on my friends xp. any explanation for that? i'm confused... also while i'm at it, does psx run the ps one roms?

okay, i just downloaded winrar. that allowed the emulator to run. but i still can't figure out the roms. i have downloaded all the parts of a disc and ran the extraction process. but then it says the archive is either damged or in an unknown format.

i think i need a driver for .bin files. i'm going to try that. let me know any additional info if i'm messing up or going in the wron direction

Once you extract the ISO or BIN file, you can just open it up with the emulator of your choice. There aren't drivers to install.

that's all well and good buti still don't know how to open a rom with the psx emulator.

they aren't ROMs

they are disk images, which are in either bin/cue, iso, or ecm format... you open one of THOSE in the emulator.

okay they work on my friends xp perfectly. now i will try to make them work on my cpu when i get home. thanks for all the help. oh, are there any rom sites that you guys would recommend?
