I'm kind of worried here. I've done coke only twice, but now I find myself fiending for it every now and again. Is this a normal thing? And please don't judge me...just asking if this is something anyone else at ZMD may have experienced.

I would venture a guess that type_x would be a resident expert on this subject and will hopefully offer you some caution.

As for me, I couldn't tell you. I haven't tried it and I likely never will. I have friends that have so I am a little familiar... but not personally.

My experiences with substances lie only with chainsmoking, borderline alcoholism, and some recent flirtations with pot.

In my totally personal opinion, any substance leaving me with strong cravings isn't good. I'm hypocritical to say this because I enjoy smoking and that's a craving too. But from what I understand, those cravings aren't likely to make me a total fiend for my addiction. Plus, my Winchester little cigars only cost about 2 bucks a pack. I'm guessing coke is a little more expensive.

In conclusion, if you are rich and can afford the stuff, and the subsequent visits to the betty ford clinic or whatever, go for it. otherwise, i would recommend you lay low on that shit my brother.

Twice is two times too many. The more you do, the more you'll crave it.
I screwed with it back in the 80's. Had to work two jobs to pay for what ended up being a $ 300 a week habit.
I'm lucky, though, I just put it down and walked away. The longer I stayed away, the easier it was not to do. Like the commercials say, just say no. Stuff will poison your body and soul.

Same here Flash except I only did it sparingly prefering weed and alcohol, but I totally agree since I've known people that would do almost anything to support thier nasty habit, he should listen to you and stop now before he gets to bad a habit.

I know, it can become a serious problem. Which is why I haven't done it since then.

I would definitely stay away from it, the people I know that do it get really nutty while on it and most get very violent also, I know one guy that would get all wired up on the shit after getting drunk and after spending most of his check on it in one night *$600* he would end up in at least on fight, but it only happened when using coke, he wouldn't do this just getting drunk or high. I myself put coke, crack, crystal meth, and heroine into one catagory, the stupid drugs because you really have to be totally stupid to do something that could addict you for life and if about equal with the price of gold that you have to have on a fairly regular basis.

I put crack and heroin in one category (the "will never try it at all, ever" category). Cocaine's in its own category. So's meth. This is just me anyway ;P

Dude, you sound like me.

I used to do speed a lot, which is kinda similar to coke but longer lasting and less intense. I haven't touched speed in two or three years now, and I still get the urge to go snort that shit up my nose. I would recommend you just not do coke.

If you are craving it then don't do it no matter what. Coke is bad bad stuff. I have never done it but my old room mate did and he was a total ass. Always wanting money, pissed off all the time, and when he came down he was very tiered. Funny thing was that he said he stopped but from time to time he would always go in the bathroom and came out with shit on his nose. Coke will make you a compleat ass. Don't do it! Now I'm all for some weed and sometimes I like to trip some shrooms. Acid will totaly fuck with you. God I did it once and I have declared it evil! The visuals was the best part but the mind fuck was not good. Totally changed my way of thinking. Didn't like it at all. I will never try coke and will just stick with my weed! I need to quit smoking cigs too. But its harder then it sounds.

Drugs are weird. They affect people differently. While one person may be an asshole on coke, it may better another one's life. People just don't want to admit that, but thats why they're drugs.

Wrong. Coke fucks up your life. Drugs fuck up your life, and fuck up the lives of those around you. That's the reason why I haven't even tried smoking, and drink very rarely. Even pot is out of the question.

Please, stay away from coke. I personally feel anybody who likes the idea of locking people away for using drugs on their own fucking bodies should be shot for the betterment of humanity.

(FUCK YOU RONALD REAGAN! YOUR FASCIST CRONIES STOPPED PIERRE TRUDEAU FROM LEGALISING MARIJUANA HERE IN CANADA!)

P.S.

This is from somebody who drinks socially, smoked up twice in my life, and took one puff of tobacco (and felt like killing myself it was so fucking nasty).

I take my hat off to people that have beaten addiction, but I think it's wisest to steer clear of them in the first place.

I've seen that happen quite a few times, so
> before you fly off the handle step back and think about it.
> I mean come on man, its not always that bad.

It sort of sounds like you're defending drug use by saying that it can give you a chance to overcome addiction and come out better for the experience. I'm pretty sure there are better paths to self-improvement. Besides, as humans we're already born with plenty of shortcomings to overcome. There's no need to add wood to the pile.

Edit: Hmm, I wonder if I just invented that expression at the end. When I first wrote it, it seemed like something I'd heard or read somewhere, but when I re-read my post I wasn't so certain. Curious, I checked for it on Google just now, but it didn't turn up there, so maybe I was just making up a variant of "Don't add fuel to the fire.".

In my opinion, you should stay away from anything that goes up the nose. I've seen friends and a family member go down the shitter from cocaine use. Though i've never tried cocaine, I have stuck two other substances up my nose, and they led to no good. One almost had me in the hospital.

Just stick to the relatively safe drugs.

I totally agree. Especially pregnant women - DON'T smoke if you're pregnant. Not even cigarettes. And don't go to bars. Second hand smoke is bad too. I know someone who 'couldn't stop' in spite of being pregnant

i honestly believe that it would be better not to do anythng at all, ever.

if its not okay to use them in front of your kids, why would you use itat all? i just dont see getting high, and "the good felling" that users say you get from it, as something to validate the use of illegal substances. I mean, theyre illegal for a reason. And this debate has been made countless times before, so i wont start it again. besides, up at this point, i think we all know that we cant change each others minds. i could say all i want, but you would still do what you want, so ill just say do what makes you happy, and dont get yourself killed or anything like that, i guess.

I'm just saying it's best to keep off the stuff completely. If someone can limit it to once a month, If they wanted to they could do without it entirely, and altogether avoid the risk of slipping into a habbit of more frequent use.
